If I could build a time machine
A giant mechanical steel machine. With two buttons, presenting the past and the future. There is no save state or automated return. It's yes or no, 0's and 1's, true or false.
How does this soulless industrial machine create a way to traverse the incomprehensibly complicated past and future of a human being. Even excluding the fact it only uses two buttons to be operated.
I press the "Past" button. A soft metallic click is heard in the machine. A door on the left opens. While it slowly rumbles to a stop, I see the pitch black hole behind the door.
Do I hesitate at this point? Will I return to the past and correct my past mistakes? I do, in fact, hesitate. It seems I unknowingly stumbled upon a paradox.
If I return to the past with my current knowledge and correct my mistakes. Will I ever be happy, still having my current knowledge?
